If you want to be great, you must learn to serve.
What do all Bible-heroes have in common? Before they began to lead, they had to learn to serve. Even Jesus laid aside His rightful place of exaltation in order to take on the form of a servant. Believers today who would be used of God must do likewise, following God’s path to leadership by developing a servant’s heart. Our flesh would never choose seasons of discomfort and servitude, but those who have been enlightened by the Word of God understand that if you want to be great, you must first learn to serve.
